AC Pan Drips

I often see in attics, AC drip pans that are full of water and dripping out the secondary line outside the home. This is an indication that the primary drain that leads to the sewer is clogged. This is a problem as the secondary is only a fail-safe drain and not intended to be used 100% of the time. And once the secondary drain clogs, then you have water in your home. A routine check during the hot months at the heat of the day to this system can save you thousands of dollars in insulation, drywall and flooring repairs.

An easy maintenance to the pan is to put an algicide or bleach in the pan to ensure no algae build up and have the system checked at least once a year. This will ensure no damages to the home by the drip pan in most cases.
